January 8 Ukulele Jam at the Royal

Happy New Uke Year, Everyone!

So far, Winter has been pretty horrible. During the past little while, whenever the temperature warmed up to above freezing, it only resulted in a newly frozen layer of ice on my driveway once the temperature dropped below freezing again. Before this Winter, I never heard the term "frost quake". And now, we seem to be getting them every few days. So any chance we can get together to play music is much appreciated.

The next jam is coming up very soon. As you know, I normally like to get this notification out well in advance. But the past few days my sinuses have been dripping like crazy, and I didn't want you to risk getting infected by reading my e-mail. Yes, my sinus cold was that bad!

The next scheduled jam is this Wednesday, January 8, at the Royal Tavern.. The days are getting colder, and the nights longer, but that doesn't matter as long as we have music. And next week is our regular ukulele jam at the Royal. Here are the three songs I've arranged so far. I know others will bring lots more songs.

This is a mix of old classics from the 50's and 60's, with fairly straight-forward chord progressions, all in the key of C.

As usual, we jam in the back room of the historic Royal Tavern, 344 Princess Street. Parking is normally available on Princess Street. Or park in the lot at the back of the Royal, off Brock Street, just past the fire hall.
The jam starts at 7:30PM. But plan to arrive around 7PM for socializing and a beverage.

Cheers! Hans
